Getting and increasing traffic to a new site is never easy. To get good steady traffic you need to promote it properly. But a lot of people give up when they cannot get decent traffic to their sites upfront. So, I am going to give you a few ideas which will kick start the proceedings and give that early boost of traffic to your site or blog. This is the first part of the series and I am giving you a method which just WORKS! Let me warn you that this is not a permanent source of traffic and is in no way an alternative to good content and SEO.

DIGG
Today’s method deals with Digg. Everyone of you must know digg. Now I am not asking you to submit your site and make it top the charts. Instead use the chart toppers on digg to your advantage. Go to the category which is the closest to your site and take a look at the top sites at that time. Take the top 10 and find out which ones are blogs. You are right. Now, go to that blog and leave a appropriate and relevant comment with a link back to your site. Mission almost completed.
If you don’t know, let me tell you that a site so high on Digg charts gets thousands of visitors from digg. And if you have left a relevant, catchy comment, I can assure you that you will get decent amount of digg visitors coming your way without any hassle.
Increase Traffic by DIGG pointers:
- Comments must be relevant.
- Don’t use keywords in “name” field.
- Promise some relevant information on your site and if possible write something up.
- Try to act quick and stick your comments near the top. They usually get flooded with comments.
- Even better, reply to other comments to get more comments in.
- USUALLY THESE PAGES GAIN SOME PAGERANK IN FUTURE DUE TO MANY INCOMING LINKS. So, you understand….
