So here is your chance to find out. Google Webmaster Central blog has recently released “Google’s SEO Report Card“, a self evaluation of sorts in which they have analyzed Google product pages for SEO factors.
It covers all the basic SEO factors and in their words is
an effort to provide Google’s product teams with ideas on how they can improve their products’ pages using simple and accepted optimizations.
Anyways, the reason I am sharing this is because it will immensely help any newbie to get into the topic. Even if you are the advanced type, give it a look. Its pretty helpful. Here is the direct link to the Google SEO Report card.
