Exact search counts on Google? – Sureshot method

Although, the Adwords keyword tool gives a numeral value for monthly search counts everyone knows that its not a very reliable one. Main factor behind that is:

  1. The search counts are normalized.
  2. Total data is not taken into account.
  3. Sampling is done to get the data which can sometimes lead to significant deviation from actual value.

Believe me, I have experienced this myself and the observed versus expected value was very significant. Recently , I picked up this cool method for getting the exact search counts on Google. I am not gonna give you the source because the site is not that Google friendly.

So, Here are the steps:

  1. Sign up for Adwords.
  2. Make a new campaign with your chosen keywords.
  3. Bid a high amount for your keywords so that they get maximum impressions available.
  4. Write an ad which is sure not to  get any clicks. Just write something totally irrelevant.
  5. Check back after a day.
  6. Multiply impressions for each keyword by 30.
  7. You got the exact search count per month.

Remember:

  1. Use [keyword] to get exact search count or “keyword” to get phrase match.
  2. Turn off content network.
  3. You can target the ad in specific areas to get respective search counts.
  4. Don’t abuse the method.

Hopefully, I am not pissing off the Adwords guys by posting this method. I don’t think you guys are loosing out on anything. BTW, Google Adwords can be a very reliable source of autopilot money if you have the capital and knowledge to use it. Go Adwords. Okay, I will cover that later.
